The family line

You do not have to live nearby to know how the visit went

After every visit Willa or Gilda texts the family contact. It is short, plain and the same each time.

“Today: kitchen, both baths and floors, bed made. Your mother had tea with Gilda. The porch light is out and the bathroom mat is curling at one corner. Nothing else to report.”

A sample visit note
  • Text (941) 555-0100 any weekday until 6 p.m.

  • Willa or Gilda answers, not a call center

  • Replies go to the contact your parent has agreed to

Plain rules

How the family contact works

  • Who is on the list

You, and anyone else your parent says. We add or remove a name when they ask, or when you do with their say.

  • What a note says

What we did, who came, and anything we noticed that you would want to know, like a leak, spoiled food or a loose rug.

  • What a note does not say

We do not judge your parent's health, memory or mood, and we do not send photos of them. Photos are of rooms only, and only if you ask.

  • What stays private

What we see in the house stays between your parent, the family contact and us. We do not discuss it with anyone else.

A missed door

If nobody answers the door

Most of the time it is nothing, and we would rather ask than assume.

  1. 01
    1

Step 1: We call your parent

When we are ten minutes out, and again at the door.

  2. 02
    2

Step 2: Then we call you

The family contact is the next call, and we wait ten minutes.

  3. 03
    3

Step 3: If nobody can be reached

We do not go in unless a key was left for exactly this. We ask you to check in on your parent, and we reschedule.
